Ted Kim joined the food world because he genuinely loves to share Korean food and culture with others. Born in Suwon, Korea, he was four when his family immigrated to the United States. Thinking he’d be an entrepreneur like his father, Ted attended the University of California, Irvine, majoring in economics and sociology. After graduating, he went into the advertising world, landing as an account manager and strategist at Edelman, where he worked with various Fortune 500 clients. Creativity and an ability to build have always been Ted’s strengths, and his experience as an ad man fueled his entrepreneurial spirit. Ted first got into the food world by organizing a KBBQ festival in Los Angeles’s Koreatown. The event was an instant hit, and Ted realized how his passion for Korean American culture and his itch to build would finally come together—and Seoul Sausage was born. Since it was founded in the early 2010s, Seoul Sausage have won season three of the Food Network’s “Great Food Truck Race”, been named to Forbes’s list of top food trucks in America, and won numerous local food awards. He and his wife, Jennifer, live in Los Angeles and are expecting their first child and their first minivan.
