MARLON RICE
Marlon is a writer, event promoter, host, and social media consultant. His first novel Blow One Down was self-published in September 2009. Blow One Down was featured as the book of the month in XXL Magazine in January 2010, and Marlon was a featured author at 95.5 WPGC (Washington DC) Family Fest 2009, and also at Hue-Man books’ First Voices Series in March 2010.
Marlon is the owner of Good Brother Productions, a production company responsible for overseeing, marketing, and promoting dozens of events in the New York City area. He is the producer of the Back to Brooklyn party series, an annual party bringing together those who grew up in Fort Greene and Clinton Hill Brooklyn. The event is in its fourth year. He is also the producer and host of Nights at the Round Table, a panel discussion series that has been running since March 2011. Marlon has produced 18 panel discussions, bringing together speakers from all walks of life to discuss a wide variety of topics, including: Education, Interracial relationships, Publishing, Religion, Black Nationalism, and also a three-part in depth series on Hip Hop.
Marlon is the creator of www.thadeuce.com, an informative website committed to providing refreshing perspective on trending topics. Thadeuce.com launched 3/15/2013. He is also the current Fundraising Chair for the Jelani Mashariki for 35th District City Council campaign. As Fundraising Chair he’s produced 8 fundraising events since September of 2012, raising over $45,000. He is also the current Communications Chair of the Maryland Writer’s Association – Montgomery Chapter, and a noted public speaker who has spoken at a variety of organizations and events, including The New York Society for Ethical Culture. He will be the host of the Podcast series Deadspin Sports starting in September 2013.
