Renee King was born in Harlem and spent her early years in the Bronx, NY until her family relocated to Queens. Renee’s passion for storytelling ignited during her time in elementary and middle school. It was in those formative years that she discovered her love for crafting narratives, a passion she would eagerly share, teaching her younger siblings, cousins, and later, her nieces and nephews the joy of reading and writing. During her time at Wilson Magnet High School in Rochester, NY, she honed her craft through studying poetry and storytelling. After graduation, Renee found herself in Atlanta, Georgia, where she pursued her education at Clark Atlanta University, earning a bachelor’s degree in communications. Her thirst for literary expression led her to a second bachelor’s in creative writing from Oglethorpe University, cementing her dedication to the written word. For 17 years, Atlanta became both her sanctuary and her canvas.

Renee was fueled by an unyielding passion for literature and an unwavering commitment to family, rooted in a strong Christian upbringing. She crafted narratives that echoed the depth of her own journey—each story a canvas of vibrant characters and complex plots drawn from the threads of her diverse community. She cherished family moments, found joy in eerie tales, enjoyed delving into the realms of science fiction, and savored the harmonies spun by her most beloved musical artists. Her hunger for knowledge was insatiable, leading her to immerse herself in diverse certification classes and the nurturing environment of book clubs and writer’s guilds.

Her professional accomplishments include a tenure at CNN and Headline News as a Research Analyst and New Writer, contributions to Hollywood productions, service in Atlanta’s political realm as a Legislative Aid, and working as a client services manager at Charter Communications. From her fondness for the color blue to her love for travel, teaching, reading, writing, movies, and concerts, Renee’s vibrant spirit painted the canvas of her life through her literary creations.
