Randolph Sturrup is a former Development Executive and current television and Tony Award-nominated Broadway producer. He was on the producing team for the Broadway revivals of Tennessee Williams’ ”A Streetcar Named Desire” starring Blair Underwood and “The Trip to Bountiful” starring Tony Award-winning actress Cicely Tyson. Both plays were honored by the Actors’ Equity Association with the Extraordinary Excellence in Diversity on Broadway Award. Randolph was also on the producing team for the six time Tony Award-nominated Broadway play “Eclipsed” starring Academy Award-winner Lupita Nyong’o. He was the co-creator and Executive Producer of the TV series “Harlem Heights” on BET and the co-creator and showrunner of “The Graduates” on AspireTV. Randolph is currently developing a three-part documentary series titled “The Sound of Protest” that celebrates and highlights the most influential protest songs in Black music history.

Randolph’s tenure in the media and entertainment business began in the Worldwide Accounting Division at HBO. After that, Randolph worked for some of the top cable networks, including VH-1, MTV Networks, BET and Nickelodeon. During his time at VH-1 and MTV, he worked as a production accountant/business manager on the following hit series and specials: “Laguna Beach”, “Room Raiders”, “MC Battle I”, “New Year’s Eve Live Show”, “Direct Effect”, “Madonna Live Onstage and On the Record”, “Legends” featuring Jimi Hendrix and Sam Cooke, “Rock of Ages”, “Tina Turner Opening Night Live”, and “Divas Live” featuring Aretha Franklin. While at Nickelodeon, he was the Manager of Production and Development for several successful and award-winning Nickelodeon Series, including “Dora the Explorer”, “Go, Diego, Go!”, “The Wonder Pets”, “Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!”, and “The Upside Down Show”. He is a recipient of the Parents’ Choice Television Award.

Randolph has been honored with the YGB Entrepreneurs Award, the Visionary Content Creator Distinguished Florida A&M University Alumni Award, and as a Fellowship Recipient for the National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE) for his accomplishments in the media & entertainment industry. He is a member of the National Academy of Television Arts & Science, NAMIC, and the Gotham Film & Media Institute. He supports several community and non-profit organizations, including the Schomburg Center, the ASPCA, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Randolph is a magna cum laude graduate of Florida A&M University’s School of Business & Industry.
