Biography

Jerry Brewer is an award-winning sports columnist at The Washington Post. Before coming to the Washington Post in 2015, he wrote for The Seattle Times, where he was the strongest voice on sports in the Seattle market. In 2016 Amazon published his book Pass Judgment: Inside the Seattle Seahawks' Super Bowl XLIX Season and the Play That Dashed a Dream (Kindle Single).

Brewer is respected for his thoughtful, nuanced opinions and his knack for writing about people and exploring the human condition.Brewer has received national awards for his work from numerous journalism organizations, including the American Association of Sunday and Features Editors, Associated Press Sports Editors, Society of Professional Journalists, Best of the West and National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association. He was nominated for a 2008 Pulitzer Prize for the “A prayer for Gloria” series that led to his first book, "Gloria's Miracle."
